DOUBLE DREAMSCREENS

Double Dreamscreens are ideal for French doors, double entry doors, multi-panel sliding doors, and many other applications.  We manufacture both standard (6'8") and custom height double Dreamscreens, so we can accommodate nearly any opening. After reviewing the information on this page, select standard (most doors) or custom for further details.

Because of the exclusive deep guide rail design, which virtually eliminates wind blow-out and increases strength, the Double Dreamscreen can be very easily and quickly installed.  The deep guide rail's "I-beam" like cross section means that it does not have to be fastened/ screwed/ glued to the top header of the door, a major problem for many doors. Four screws (one in each corner), and the Dreamscreen is mounted!

Double Dreamscreens leave the existing door opening completely clear when retracted.  The two sides meet in the middle and are held in place by a full length magnet on each pull rail, providing a complete seal.

Type of Mount

Part of the patented Dreamscreen design is the ability to mount it either on the face of the existing doorframe molding (face mount), or on the inside of the door frame (flush mount). Every Dreamscreen is delivered with parts for either type of mount. See the diagrams below.

Dreamscreens can be installed in two basic ways:

bullet

Face Mounted: where the housing and jamb are mounted on top of door frame molding.  This type of installation does not require the existing doorway to be square, so it is often the best choice. See the molding diagram for detail on the face mount installation.

bullet

Flush Mounted: where the rails and housing are mounted to the interior portion of the entry way.  In this installation, if the door opening is not square, shimming may be required to give the Dreamscreen optimal performance.  Flush mount installations are slightly less noticeable, but then again, the Dreamscreen is already practically invisible when not in use!  In some flush mounts, the lower guide rail will be sitting on top of the door threshold, making a threshold a good idea (see thresholds).

The standard Dreamscreen is 79 3/4" tall, so if the daylight opening height is less than that (check both sides of the door), AND you would like to do a flush mount, a custom door will be required.

Dreamscreens are the world's finest retractable screens. Sometimes referred to as hidden screens, phantom screens, hideaway screens and more. Also, motorized retractable screens for garages and patios.

Mounting Diagrams

The types of mounts are depicted below, with the Dreamscreen shown in red.  The housing is the square red box, with the pull rail slightly extended. The diagrams apply equally well to in-swinging or out-swinging doors. Go to mounting diagrams for even more info.
